South Cerney, UK. 27 February 2018: ProLabs, leading optical transceiver specialist, today announced it will be debuting its innovative new transponder offering at OFC 2018 – the largest global conference and exhibition for optical communications and networking professionals – taking place March 13-15 in San Diego.
The ProLabs 100G transponder, the EON-121 Transponder product set, is one of the smallest of its kind, standing out from similar offerings by boasting the lowest power consumption for a 100G transponder. Compact and power efficient, the launch comes following the successful debut of ProLabs 100G Green transceivers in 2017.

The debut of the EON-121 marks a significant milestone for ProLabs, as 100G transponders are a new technology segment for the company and enable it to begin offering complete solutions to its customers. The transponder addresses the ever-increasing demand for connectivity and bandwidth requirements by virtue of it being a small form factor (thereby minimising costs associated with rack space in data centres) which can then be deployed close to the source of traffic.
