CFCF AP2026 | Thailand AI Data Center Special Forum

   October 20, 2026        29

As global demand for AI computing power surges, Thailand is emerging as the newest hotspot in Southeast Asia’s AI data center race. With both power and land in tight supply, data centers are being pushed to disperse across remote green-power regions — and DCI (Data Center Interconnect) networks are becoming the key networking solution for making those dispersed data centers work together efficiently. In Thailand itself, data center power demand is exploding even as the grid approaches its carrying limit, and policy is shifting from “encouragement” toward “screening plus constraint.” DCI interconnect demand has thus become a hard requirement.

This year, CFCF AP 2026 adds the Thailand Data Center Special Forum, co-hosted by 89 Plus Energy Co., Ltd. Focused on “updates on Thailand’s AI data center power demand and the related policies and regulations,” the forum gathers core decision-makers from Thailand’s power, data center, investment and development sectors to lay out, in one session, the full chain of investing in and building out AI data centers in Thailand.

For the optical communications industry chain, Thailand is both one of the fastest-growing markets for data center demand and a key node for Chinese companies setting up plants overseas: rising power tariffs and grid constraints further raise the cost-effectiveness of DCI interconnect solutions, while localized production brings manufacturers closer to Southeast Asian customers. Spanning PPA, PDP2026, grid upgrades and data center investment and development, this forum is the critical window for optical communications professionals to see how “green power × computing” is reshaping optical networks — and how to serve Southeast Asia locally.
